As 2010 comes to a close it's exciting to look back and see what we've accomplished.
This year alone we established 14 new church-to-church partnerships, including nine in response to the tragic earthquake in Haiti. Through these partnerships over 300 children are being cared for in FAMILIES.
That number may seem small compared to the global orphan crisis but these children are receiving the unequaled love and nurturing of a family when the alternative is life on the streets or life in institutionalized care.
Hundreds more children are being cared for in 5 un-partnered projects in China, South Africa, Sudan, Uganda and Iraq. Without a U.S. church partner, World Orphans has been supporting these projects out of our general budget.
Unfortunately, as one might expect given the economy, general donations have been down this year. Without an increase in donations to our general budget we will not be able to sustain these projects.
That's why we need you to join us by becoming a $33 Partner and commit to giving $33 a month to help us keep these children safe.
Our goal is 300 new $33 Partners by December 31st.
As a way of thanking you for your support we'll send you a World Orphans t-shirt. There are two designs to choose from - just indicate the style and size in the "Your Message" field during the donation process.
